Vienne (30 kms from Lyon) was founded 2500 years ago in a natural amphitheater, surrounded by 5 hills, and next to the Rhone River. The roman monuments compete with big churches from the Middle Ages. Today, Vienne is a lively city with a open-air market each saterday and a Jazz Festival each summer.
This guided tour leads you also in the museums: Fine-Art Museum (paintings, archeology), Museum Saint-Peter (roman and medieval sculptures and sarcophages), romanesque cloister of Saint-Andrew the Low (12th century). Ticket for museum cost 5 euros for adults and 3,60 euros for children (not included). The tour lasts 2h30.
