Born and raised in Los Angeles, Francis Mickus studied Classics and French in Paris as well as film in LA. He is completely bilingual and at ease in both cultures.
Settled in Paris since 1992, he started as a translator, working on film and television projects as well as board and video games.
He has also worked for several years in French museums and monuments: the musée Gustave Moreau, the Louvre, the Conciergerie, the Sainte-Chapelle and the Musée d’Orsay. He has served as an interpretor to help welcome representatives from the National Portrait Gallery, the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art and Tate Moderne. It was the starting point for his work as a tour guide. He has since received dignitaries (Mrs. Kofi Annan), schools (The Haberdashers’ Asky School) as well as thousands of visitors from the world over.
